New Portland Panther / Corey Brewer websites

header2.jpg
In a comment for another posting, a commentator left a link for the "Official Home of the Portland Panthers" website, which can be found at http://portlandpantherfootball.com. The website was designed by eVarsity Sports. Looks like a nice site with the sound of the train on the home page. Check it out.
Update: Corey Brewer also has a new website: http://cbrewer22.com

As reported by local media, the possiblities of casino gambling at Kentucky Downs is growing closer.
A link to the story by the Herald-Leader is provided within.

5 Game Suspension for Titans Albert Haynesworth

How do you feel about this whole situation that happened in Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Is this a proper fine for this action. I personally find the incident unacceptable period, it wouldn't bother me if Haynesworth was suspended for the rest of the season... Just my opinion what's yours.

Baseball and Soccer starting

1313054743.jpg

Well, its time to register for Portland Spring sports. This year my kids are making it hard on us, Anthony wants to play soccer and Nicholas wants to play baseball. After our experience with Portland Little League last year, I think we are going to put them in the Dixie League. (How have your personal experiences been with them?)
I was impressed with Portland Fall soccer, so I am going to go ahead and register with them again. The times are all posted on the Portland Web Site if anyone else is interested in the "spring sports". I truly hope this year, we have a happy and healthy soccer/baseball season! I'd like to hear all your opinions related to Portland sports and your experiences with them. Until next time....

Soccer Coach has class

soccerball.jpg

My boys started playing baseball last year, for the Portland Little League and my experiences with them left me a little weary, to let them join another sports league. I enrolled both of them in soccer and it has been great so far. Enrollment, practice, uniforms, pictures, and games have been so organized. Our family is enjoying this season completely. My son's coach, Bill Rush is an excellent coach! He shows such class during the games, when our team is winning, instead of rubbing there noses in it, he will put the better kids back in defense and move the less experienced kids in front. To go from a baseball league, where you had teams running up the score and being cocky (running across home plate backwards, playing the field 5 feet in front of where they should be, etc) to a soccer league that is truly fair and respectable, has put my faith back in Portland Sports. Thanks for being a great coach!

New to Blog

Hello everyone....I am new to the world of "blog" (as well as relatively new to Portland) and hope to meet lots of "bloggers" from here, there and everywhere. I think this will be a great opportunity for the community to voice it's opinions, share information, and generally just get to know what Portland is about. I do know that Fall Soccer begins soon, as I have two grandsons who will be playing and I'm pretty excited about it. I found out today that the season actually begins on Sep 12 (Jamboree Sep 10, pics, etc.) and ends on October 29th. Practices should begin sometime this week or weekend.
If anyone has more info to share, please do so..til next time, bye gw
