Where do YOU do shop, eat, and play?

Whether it's in Portland or elsewhere, where do you do business? What attracts you? Price? Convenience? Selection? Service? Atmosphere? Liquor By The Drink? Smoking Sections? Other . . .?

On the flip side, why do you NOT do business somewhere? Give us the low-down on your experiences.

If you prefer, you can rate businesses 1-5
1=poor 2=fair 3=neutral 4=good 5=excellent

CASINO GAMBLING over the State Line??

As reported by local media, the possiblities of casino gambling at Kentucky Downs is growing closer.
A link to the story by the Herald-Leader is provided within.
News4 also did a segment on this last evening.

If this should be passed what affect, if any, do you think it will have on our area?

Looking for a new place to Dine??

Wish I could report that it is in Portland, Close - Whitehouse

New upscale casual restaurant that opened this past week in the Kroger plaza named MoMo's.
We visited there yesterday, Fabulous prime rib, Fabulous Chicken Parm, Unbelieveable Rack of Ribs! and you gotta try the Cheese Sticks! oh and don't forget dessert, we tried the mile high cheese cake with caramel drizzzle, big enough for 2-3 people.

My understanding is the owners want to expand by bringing a downsized version of this restaurant to portland next year..... whooooo hooooo would be nice!

If you enjoy sitting down for a nice meal you have got to try this place, I give it 2 thumbs up!
Service was GREAT too!!

Frosty-Freeze-type Restaurant in Portland??

We all have been to the Frosty Freeze in Franklin, Kentucky. What if something just like that came here to Portland -- except with a place to eat inside on cold days? You will still have to walk to the window and order, and there would be seating outside as well. No glassware, all plastic. Would it be supported? I would like your input.

Keep in mind the menu would be like Frosty Freeze, the dairy dip style.

Thanks, Larry

Ban smoking in restaurants?

no-smoking_small.jpg

Should the Portland City Council consider passing an ordinance banning smoking in Portland's restaurants?

Personally, I think it would be a good idea. The Panther Den comes to mind as a very unpleasant (and unhealthy) place to eat due to the smoke.

I'd be interested in hearing opinions from others.
