Hurricane Katrina....brings out the worst in people
As I watch CNN, all I can do is sit here in horror. One of the worst tradegies in U.S. history has brought out the worst in people. The news gives us a glimpse into the darkness of human nature. If the hurricane and flooding wasn't bad enough, you have people raping, looting, carjacking and shooting. Snipers actually fired on a medi-vac helicopter trying to help people. What kind of person takes advantage of a tradegy? I am truly ashamed to call these people fellow Americans. Its really easy, now that it is over, to cast blame on the government and military, but I challenge all Americans to place blame where it is due.....Hurricane Katrina. It is truly a tradegy and we can only do our part, praying, giving blood, and sending donations, clothes and food to those needing our help. Those that react with violence and crime are dispicable and should be dealt with accordingly . It is a shame for the people that are truly in need, because as you watch the news coverage you feel appalled rather than sympathetic. My thought and prayers are with the true victims of Hurricane Katrina.
