In one sense it does not really matter what opinion others may have of you, but in another it can bring insight into our character.

Like it or not, our life produces a trail; and along the way, the encounters, the perceptions, and the knowledge that others have of us through their experiences with us, form their opinion of us.
This trail is what we would call our reputation. Some are good, some are bad, and some are misrepresented; but make no mistake, our interactions with them and others is the basis for their opinion.

I often tell people that I am working on my second reputation. My first one (before being born-again) was not very pleasing. I lived a life of selfishness that produced very little good or worth to society, and in return it did not produce kind thoughts of me as a person. This is not to say that today everyone has an 8x10 color glossy photo of me hanging over their mantle (unless they throw darts); but is to say that there are many who are now pleased with my life and tell others of me in a kind way. This change for me, was directly tied to the free gift of grace from Jesus Christ.

Today's pop culture confuses the meaning of love just as much as in times of old. Love does not seek the best of the one giving the love; it seeks the best of the one receiving the love.

True love for another is realized when our thoughts, speech, and actions are performed in such a way as not to place the one we love in harm, or to bring shame upon them.

There is a question I have asked many times at our jail ministry; and that is "do you love your children?". Then I ask if they would give their life for that of their child. Most all would answer yes to those questions. Then I will ask the question "who is raising your children now?".

I do not ask those questions to be mean, but to bring awareness. If their love was as strong as they proclaim, then they would no longer make selfish decisions that ultimately place their family in danger.

Their situations are not so different than ours. Many of us live our lives based on personal desires instead of the best interest of the ones we say we love. Many times what seemed the right thing to do, was really just the right thing for me and not for my family. This is why the Lord spends so much time in the bible explaining real love; the kind that has pure motives-the kind that is wrapped in truth.

Today is the anniversary of my Dad's home going. I know where he is and he is in such a better place right now And I know he is dancing with my Jesus.

Mr Charles Myers told me this would be OK. So, I am asking you for help. I'm not good asking for help. I trust God to take care of everything, but I feel HE is telling me to do this. I hope I'm right. = )
