If you have a better idea we want to hear it.
I know the blog is slow right now, but this is a topic that is truly hitting home with many.
What are your thoughts on the economy, what if any changes have you made, and are all these bail outs the answer?
I for one am absolutely stunned by an article that I just read regarding the newest bail out funds for the Auto Industry.
"General Motors to Invest $1 Billion in Brazil Operations -- Money to Come from U.S. Rescue Program"
President Elect Barack Obama appears to be a busy man since being elected to be our next president, keeping in mind he doesn't take office until January, what do you think of what you've seen so far. In this poll you can select more than one answer and the answers will appear in random order each time you view the page.

Here's your spot to speak your thoughts on these topics, it has been getting rather heated in other areas and felt perhaps this needed it's own space.
I will keep this topic rolling toward the top of the page as long as there are comments being made. Please remember foul language/and personal attacks will not be permitted, now play fair and go for it!.
FYI: Our Representative Bart Gordon voted FOR the $700B bail-out plan today (September 29, 2008). As everyone knows by now, the plan was defeated by the House of Representatives. I am 99.99% sure Mr. Gordon's office was receiving e-mails and calls running 200 to 300 to 1 against the plan. Thus, Mr. Gordon has voted against what his constituents wanted. Any thoughts?

Has anyone been following the progress of this legislation? I'd like to hear what others think about it. I've already expressed my displeasure with the bill to Senator's Alexander and Corker, and Congressman Bart Gordon. I'll hold my thoughts until I see there is some iinterest in discussing it.
From some of the discussions I’ve participated in, both here, and on other blogs I’ve noticed a common theme from almost everyone. Regardless of political affiliation, or preference, it seems that very few of us are happy with the way our country is being “managed” by our political leadership. From gas prices to healthcare, mortgage crisis to income taxes, we all seem to be unhappy with something. This confirms my feelings that we have lost our voice, and faith, in government. Instead of being a government “for the people,” it seems to me that it has become a government for the special interests. I’d like to know what others think we can, or should, do make our government more accountable.
With all the hoopla surrounding the "stimulus package" that was recently signed off on by the Congress, the Senate and the President, I am curious to know what everyday folks are actually planning to do with the additional money. And if people decide to pay bills or save it for a rainy day, rather than going on a spending spree (which is what the politicians are hoping for), what good is it going to do?
Does anyone really believe this will thwart a recession?
The blog has been slow this last week. Must be vacation time for alot of folks.
Not much happening in Portland also so let's open a discussion about the immigration problem we have here in the USA. As you know the bill did not pass and I think that's a good thing.
How about you? How do you think the immigration problem should be handled?
