New City Building?

There is a yellow house at the entrance of Richland Park [on the southeast corner of Portland Blvd. and America's Way]. I'm not sure if they are remodeling it or tearing it down. There are a different City vehicles around the house from time to time. (This morning the city van with the prisioners was there.) Does anybody know what's going to become of this house?

Snow Days

[This message was sent to teachers and principals this morning, 02/17/2010. It came from the Sumner County Board of Education Central Office. (Emphasis was added by me.) Charlie]

The Board of Education approved several items last night related to this year's school you may share with your teachers, staff, students, parents, and other interested individuals. First, as you know, we have now used 10 stockpiled days for snow. As a result, we asked the Board to make March 11 and 12 actual student days instead of the parent conference and professional development days that had originally been planned. The Board approved this adjustment to the calendar. Accordingly, everyone needs to plan for students to be in school on these two days. If families have made plans to be away with their children for what they expected to be an extended weekend, we will excuse these absences.
