Please be aware that the recycling bins that used to be in the H.G. Hill parking lot have been moved.
The three drop-off sites are now located at:
1) Public Safety Bldg (Police & Fire Station) on North Broadway
2) City Mechanic Shop on Morningside Drive
3) Street Department Building on Stevison Ham Road.

I bet that the owners of the Hills parking lot requested the bins be moved. There have been times when the trash was blowing everywhere. Who cleaned it up?? The bins are all now on city property or am I wrong??
It is frustrating to go to the bins and they are full and then you have to drive to the next set but I am a big believer in recycling so I don't mind the slight inconvience.

Went to dump recyclables today, we used to use the Hills site that is no longer there, and now have to go to the Police Dept, unfortunately the bins were over flowing and no room for more, hubby says he isn't going to drive all over Portland to recycle, if they can't make it a little easier to dispose of recyclables we will no longer be sorting it. It's a great thing but has become a cumbersome task, and the City doesn't seem to care that most of the other locations are not user friendly from some parts of this town.
I'm sorry to hear they've moved the bins from hg hills, having them all on one end of town is not going to be beneficial to those that come from the other end to recycle. I wonder if this will make some stop doing so. The bins at hills were always full so I know it shouldn't of been from lack of use, on the other hand I have seen people throwing trash in them and when they get overloaded the stuff flies everywhere, and this may be reason for the move.

Beth: Morningside Drive is just north of Portland Builders Supply on North Broadway. It's on the west side of North Broadway.
Stevison Ham Road is right beside the Portland Funeral Chapel on North Broadway. It's also on the west side of the road.
Charlie, I used to use the one in the HG Hill parking lot. Being new to Portland, where exactly are the other two locations, other than the police dept and fire station? I do know where that is..........LOL.
