I didn't do the post as my concerns????
I did that list as what I thought were the most important stories of the past year. I was hoping maybe it might start people listing what they thought were the top stories of the year.
...according to you.
in the grand scheme of things those minute issues are um minute.
Therein lies the problem.....as long as it doesn't affect me, it's not a problem. I think all of those things are a concern, especially the issues that affect our children: jobs and teachers.
I hope this year things will be better for Portland...but attitudes have to change and the powers that be need to take charge and be leaders. That there was no Christmas parade was just ridiculous. Oh well.....we'll see what next year brings: hopefully, not more of the same apathy .
If those things were your only concerns...you have no concerns.
I get kind of tired hearing people tell me happy holidays when I am out in town...It is Merry Christmas!
I saw where newspapers have like the top stories of the year. And as I was thinking about 2009, I thought about what could be the best stories of 2009 for Portland.
Here are my suggestions...
--- Albany International to close
--- Jim Butler
--- Sandy Binkley was sentenced.
--- City Council voting to end HR department in city
--- Vote to allow liquor by the drink.
--- Two new schools open in city
--- City of Portland doesn't have Christmas parade
Merry Christmas Everyone!! From my family to yours!!
God Bless!
