Seriously,
is everyone going to get the H1N1 Flu shot?? If not, WHY??

Not a chance! I was forced to take the vaccine for Swine Flu I in the mid 70's. As usual, Air Force personnel were forced to jump on the flu bandwagon by Carter and his cronies. I was praying for death. I can't swear this is true, but it seems as if we (the military) lost more folks to the shot than the bug itself.
I don't have anymore confidence in the FDA, CDC, or government in general than I did then, and will take my chances with the flu.
Also, if this is a seemingly new disease, doesn't it strike anyone else as strange that this immunization has supposedly been tested more than the normal strain? It sounds like more of the same old/new garbage from the O. Administration.
I think he is cute. Wasn't this pig man on an episode of Seinfeld?
Um relax it is a funny photo. Makes me crave bacon.
Im not even sure where *hypocritical* comes in. I think hes kinda cute, like a pot bellied pig kinda cute.
I thought the picture was kind of cute, very Lord of the Rings or something and quite in line with Halloween... spooky.
There was nothing intended to cause controversy with the image as it is not of an actual person but meant to provoke a humorous response in light of the fear surrounding the flu and the H1N1 strain in particular.
It reminds me of my oldest child coming home from school with the flu awhile back and my other children being concerned it was the swine flu and that he was going to turn into a pig. They kept checking on him for signs he was "changing".
I wouldn't categorize this picture as disgusting. Weird or strange but not disgusting.
I can't believe that people on this blog complain about Mike posting a Christian thread, offering hope, motivation and inspiration, yet they will post a picture like they have with this thread.
This is disgusting and so hypocritical.
Our family of 4 won't be getting it. I have never had the flu shot and also been lucky enough to never get the flu. My husband has had the flu once and he got it from our 4-year-old. We've heard bad and good, but I just get leary of a lot of these shots. It could be bad for me I know, but side effects are bad too. I saw a girl on the news who got distonia from a flu shot. It's a non-reversible neuorological condition which causes her body to twist and convulse. It was awful!
I, as well will NOT be getting the h1n1 flu shot. Like many, I believe this was thrown together in a frenzie and fear the shot may end up being worse than the flu in the long run. JMO
Oh, no doubt about that !
I suspect there may very well be people (maybe very high up people) who will call us crazy and "fearmongers" for our decision not to trust this vaccine, and they will tell us that we are responsible for the spread of the virus.
Call me crazy but I just do not trust the CDC or FDA enough to take a vaccination that is merely months in the making. They have certainly been wrong before. For example the 1976 H1N1 outbreak. The vaccine seemed to cause more problems than the flu. I live in a household of 3. Everyone but myself has already had this flu and it was rather mild. My son is only six and my wife asthmatic. After the initial fever they never really missed a beat. I have known 6 others outside of my family to have it. They just felt poorly for a few days. The flu sucks..Even in constant close contact I never contracted this bug.
If I were one of the high risk people I would consider taking the vaccine next flu season, after several million others have taken it. Of course this is the opinion of a 35 year old who just doesn't get the flu. Last time I had it was probably late 80's or early 90's. Never had a flu shot in my life. I do understand that the standard "garden variety" flu kills 10's of thousands of people annually and the government has not been on such a dramatic crusade to vaccinate everyone like now.
I'm not going to take the H1N1 shot. It was put together too fast and I've heard some doctors say they would not give it to their own families. I think it's a fast sell job by the govt. and that's scarier than the flu, to me.
It's scary to hear the stories that New York tried to force people to take the shot or lose their jobs ! I think that's been shot down, for now, though.......pardon the pun ...LOL
I already get the flu shot every year because I am asthmatic, so if the dr says I should get it as a supplement to the flu shot, I will.
I've decided I'm not going to get the H1N1 shot. I might consider it if a) I had kids in school (bringing home plenty of germs), b) I was working in a healthcare facility, or c) I was working in a customer service capacity involving a lot of hand to hand exchange, i.e. cashier, waitstaff, etc. But I'm not in any of those high-risk positions, so I've decided not to take a vaccine that has had so little testing. I think it is a really hard call to make.
