"Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment." From geocaching.com
If you are not familiar with geocaching, you might want to check it out. It's a great game/sport that the entire family can enjoy. What's especially nice is that it gets everyone out of the house enjoying the beautiful scenery God gave us in Tennessee and elsewhere. It also gives everybody a chance to get some much needed exercise.
Here are three YouTube videos done by a guy in North Carolina. The videos give a great introduction to the game/sport:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
You can also go to www.geocaching.com to learn more and to find nearby caches. (You can search by ZIP Code from the home page.) I checked and there are over 500 geocaches hidden within a 25 -mile radius of Portland.
Enjoy!

mmk. I wanna PLAY!
This sounds like a fun way to get out of the house for a day trip!! Maybe our next vehicle will have a GPS and we can venture into the hunt. Thanks for posting Charlie!! :)
