First move-Charge Cheney and Bush for war crimes
Second move-repeal Bush tax cuts for the rich
Third move-Declare UK the nation's official basketball team.
I am very glad to see someone besides a "white guy" become president of this great country; but I also thank Mr. Bush for keeping my family and this country safe from attacks since 9-11
I do ask for God's wisdom for all our leaders.
What a wonderful sight it is to see a country place our leaders in office with peaceful actions.
God Help Us All!!!
Oh the hatred dies slow in Tennessee
Hey Daniel what does the Unite Kingdom know about basketball. Without the rich would there be jobs for the others. Hope you can speak Arabic.
You're right man. That whole idea of giving the rich tax breaks will help the economy sure has paid off big dividends. Our economy is doing A OK! Most rich people don't give back, obviously. Look at the one you work for.
As for the Arabic comment, another bigoted response from a spoiled, ignorant white person. Imagine that.
Oh My God Help Us All.
Daniel didn't you move away? Funny you decide to show up on this day.....I see you haven't learned much since you left!
I'm going to throw my support behind this president just like you threw your support behind President Bush. And Daniel, you started things off like you always do, slinging the mud (and hate) right off the bat. I have never seen a group of people more hateful than the democratic party in this country. That is why I left them a long time ago.
You guys are right again! Making a statement with an underlining message of ethnic intolerance is very much what we need in this country. Bush and Cheney committed war crimes. There's a push right now to charge people in their administration. I think it should happen. I know some want to forget about that. Not me.
Daniel, As you can recall I'm sure, I was one that crossed party lines unwilling to back my democratic party. Many who felt as I did have accepted the President we now have, we've turned the pages in History along with everyone else, we've let go of the past and are moving forward, we may not forget what we went thru to get where we are now, but hatred, anger and revenge will get us no where in solving the problems that lay ahead.

Sing together now... "Ding Dong the Wicked Witch is Dead!"
OMG........................ I should of known better!
Judy,
Am I hearing you right? Daniel and Pelosi are the one's that can't let it go. And if you all had it your way, there would not be a United States, you would sit back and let the US haters of the world take it from us (that's all of us, not just some of us as you try to make it sound) quit trying to make this a race issue.
Fred, if this was the only part of your comment directed at me "Judy,Am I hearing you right? Daniel and Pelosi are the one's that can't let it go." The answer would be YES.
So much for a new tone from the dems. You guys need more prozac. Chill out. Your guy won.
If Bush and Cheney are to be brought up on war crimes, shouldn't most of congress also be indicted as co-conspirators? They had the same intel Bush had. They lobbied for it. They voted for it.
Daniel, I do really hate to see that, on the blog anyways, you have become the type of Liberal that you and I used to lament. Remember the conversations where we talked about how the abortion clinic bombers gave pro-life conservatives a bad name, and the Bush is the devil and never did anything right crowd gave well-meaning Democrats a black eye? You have become one of those guys on this blog. No cogent points, no unifying purpose, just nah, nah, na boo, boo hate Bush, name call anyone who disagrees with you comments. Aren't those the types of Conservatives who were that way with Clinton that you despised?
I really hope you are just trying to rub people the wrong way to get arguments started on the blog to make it intersting and get people to post. I really hope that is what it is. I fear that now that you are living in a very Liberal area where a lot of the Ultra hardcore Liberals talk just like you have on this blog, you no longer have an anchor to the other side of arguments, where you can realize that just because someone disagrees with you, it does not mean they are your enemy, and have gone off the Liberal deep end so to speak. I mean really, you are starting to sound like a Liberal Shawn Hannity. ** ouch I bet that hurt ** But its true.
Look. The sob comments of "let's unite and move on" sound really great, but who do they benefit? The ones who have damaged our country in the past eight years. Tim you make some valid points, but on your radio show you talked about Clinton several times and how he should have been prosecuted and that happened over a decade ago. His crime was way less savage than what Bush and Cheney did. They lied to America, used the Justice Department as a political wing and shipped thousands of Muslims to prison camps without charging them with a single crime. If that happened to your family, would you just want to forget it? Plus I don't think you've read this post completely. I stated what I thought Obama should do within his first 100 days, some moron redneck got on here and said something about speaking Arabic. I don't want to unite with some idiot like that. Racism and lack of ethnic tolerance, tisk tisk tisk. Some of the same people who sit in church on Sundays. Well you can unite with the hypocrites all you want, but I'll call them out every chance I get. You guys let the racist comments slide all day long but then get mad when somebody calls your bluff. Lastly, comparing people who blow up abortion clinics and Democrats who want our former President prosecuted to me is two totally different issues. If we don't hold him and his administration accountable, generations to come will see us as weak-minded fools. Maybe they wouldn't be too far from the truth.
And don't think I won't hold Obama up to the same standards. I'm not googoo gaga over him like most. He better get the job done or I'll vote for someone else.
Daniel, why is it we can't just have a post honoring this day in history......... For months all I heard from you and your counterpart "Prometheus" was history in the making, what a grand day it will be. Many of us have accepted him and are supporting him as our new leader, there will always be some that will hold true for what ever their reasons, but to continue harping, mudslinging, and throwing arogant comments about on this blog is not necessary. You're just PO'd cuz someone didn't recognize UK basketball as University of Kentucky instead United Kingdom. The Dolphins didn't swim too good at years end, but hey they had a fantastic year! ;)) Chill Out!
Oh Judy I am chilled. The UK thing did get me fired up :).
The United Kingdom thing could be because I'm a black Timberwolves fan, now that Corey is playing there. Also maybe the Daniel's of the world are the reason the newspapers are all going broke.
Okay. . . Call to order, enough already.....
lets get back on track with this thread, hopefully everybody has it out of their system, if not take it elsewhere!!
That made absolutely no sense. Maybe newspapers are going broke because they're so many people like you that can barely write, much less read...but I'm pretty sure I know who reddog is. *edited by administration* Judy, I think you should adopt a policy on this blog that the names of people must be known for posts. If you got something to say that you believe in put your name behind it, quit being a coward. Many blogs have adopted this policy now and it could keep this blog from being sued in the future.
Judy you know it always get personnel. If you talk about politics with people and they can't make an argument, they always get personnel. But they can talk about me all they want, I need a good laugh. I'll just talk about the Grand Furor Bush. Obama already ordered to stop prosecuting at Guantamo Bay. A solid first step.
He's also froze whitehouse employee salaries that make over $100K, another good step considering all the folks that are losing their jobs.
That is a good move. All the little people are being made to take cuts, take layoffs, etc. It shouldn't be a one-way street.
"Don't know how to read, much less write"? Look at how you spelled "personal" ......... Twice! personnel....personal....... Learn It!. You get on here trying to show everyone how much smarter you are....... and then you stumble..... what a pity...... bless your heart :( I hate it when that happens. Don't feel bad, it has happened to me too :)
You got me "fred". It's not that I"m smarter than you, it's just that my ideas are much better than yours.
Daniel, maybe if Obama closes Guantanomo, he could move the prisoners to UK (University of Kentucky), which would upgrade the average student GPA by several points and *edited by administration* be vastly improved.
Also I don't work for anyone and there are no whip marks on my back
reddog, let this be fair warning that you are crossing into an area where further comments like the one you left below will be deleted.
Judy, sorry but Daniel was making assumptions with no facts and was only pushing his buttons.
Freezing the salaries of the White House staffers won't solve a whole lot. They aren't the ones who make a lot and get generous raises each time, that would be Congress (who are not white house staffers) and I bet they still continue to vote in their salary increases as they always do.....
Daniel, before red dog even posted a comment, you threw every person in Tennessee in the same boat of "hating" black people because they disagree with Obama. "the hatred dies slow in Tennessee."
I can't speak for everyone in the state of Tennessee (how do you even know which posters are from here and which might be from NYC?)but I hate no man or woman. I disagree with many of BHO's policies. Does that mean I hate him? I think many of your ilk will try to make it seem that way so they do not have to answer the real questions some of us have about his policies. Instead, much as you did, they can pass it off as stupid, ignorant, racist, redneck speak.
If you want to talk about hatred dying slow, just look at your comments about Bush. That's some genuine 100% Grade A hatred, and it doesn't seem to be dying.
It was good to see the old Daniel back for a post. I get the feeling you are, to borrow a wrestling, or excuse me, rassling term, playing the heel to keep the blog interesting. Lord knows its working on me. Let me try if I can do the same from a different perspective...
I go weeks without posting until I read your near Communists Liberal rantings and feel like I need to respond. Only someone who reacts purely on heart and ignores common sense rational thinking (aka Liberal media elites like you) could post ideas and comments that are so far from correct that the light from correct takes millions of years to get to you so that by the time the light from correct reaches you, it is no longer correct any more.
On and I need a big generalization, ok, ummmmm. Everyone knows that people with "death" in their last name sure hate a whole lot of people and want to force puppies to fight baby albino seals in a Michael Vick-like ring of death.
Hope that's up to your standards.
Oh, and P.S., spring is just around the corner. Come on down when you feel like losing on the links.
Oh, and regarding your comments about my show, i thought you didn't listen to Conservative talk radio. Seriously, I stuck to the issues of the day on my show. The only thing I ever remember criticizing Clinton for on my show was his bungling of the nuclear negotiations with North Korea. (Giving them nuclear reactors in exchange for a promise not to use them for military purposes). That's because that whole North Korea nuclear standoff was in the news that day and i wanted to make sure people knew how that whole thing got started, and show a pattern of promise breaking from the North Koreans.
I may have said something about what you were referring to in a conversation with you if you were talking about charging Bush with crimes while in office or something. If I remember correctly, I was trying to illustrate the difference between knowlingly lying under oath (aka "pulling a Clinton") and saying something wrong based on bad information (aka George Bush). I think that may be the conversation you are remembering.
Tim you are paranoid! I said the hate dies slow because of the God Help Us, comment. Maybe I was stirring just a bit :). Republicans and Dems are guilty of the same stuff, same rantings, whatever you want to call it. Also, black and white people alike are racist, that's just life. My original comment I stand by, I think Obama needs to push for accountability for what transpired in Iraq and get rid of the tax cuts. MDL and Judy, the reason I like the freeze is because it needs to start at the top. You're right, it probably won't amount to much, but at least it's setting an example. Who knows. Oh and Judy don't worry about ole Reddog, like I said, I need a good laugh, we all do. No matter what I post on here(it's hard to tell emotions on a computer screen) I do so with a good attitude. Tim and I have debated this stuff for a long time. It gets heated but you're supposed to be able to do that in America and still be able to agree to disagree. Just like Tim knows he has more business carrying my clubs than challenging me on the course :).
Oh and Tim, your icon Rush just spouted on the radio how he hopes Obama fails. Lets hear all you all tongue lash him. And do you really think Bush didn't know what he was doing in Iraq? I know the guy is slow, but not that slow.
I have no use for Rush, he's a disgrace.
Hey Daniel & Tim - The next time you two get together for a Golf Game can I be the caddy? Would love to be a fly in the cart on that!! Of course I would have to have a double.. make that tripple dose of xanax to get thru it! And I might have to dump both of you in the pond at the 8th/9th hole at kenny perry's, but what the heck, you game?
That's cool Judy. Tim needs to get dumped in that pond anyways so he can track down all the balls he's lost in it...
Hey Tim,I'd love to play golf with you guys and I could sign your petition to run for council again while we're there.
I second Mr. George's sentiment, or is cement? Fred?
Cute Daniel, I did like the comment about Dems and Reps being the same though, at least through it all you can still admit that fact, and should not get any arguments. Oh and by the way... Amen to Tim's posting.
Daniel, if you will think back and remember, my shots skip when they hit the water on eight. That hole and I have an understanding since its neighbor hole number two broke my toe when I first started playing. (long and humiliating story).
Daniel and I used to have some real competitive rounds back in the day. Then he had to go and take lessons. But fortunately for me, I played enough last year to gain a little consistency, so I think it would be a heck of a game again.
Regarding the round of golf, if the bloggers can get together for a lunch, I don't see why we can't get together for a round of golf. Friday is supposed to be a beautiful day if it does not rain. Unfortunately for me, ever since the time changed, by the time all my students leave, I don't have enough time to get a round in by dark. Maybe on a Saturday soon. Spring break is right around the corner too. Maybe we could plan something then?
Oh, I forgot to address the Rush thing. Daniel, you know I don't with everything Rush says, but why would I tounge lash him on this if I totally agree with him? Why would I hope someone succeeds in implementing so many policies that I am against?
Flooding the marketplace with dollars, therefore significantly decreasing the value of the dollar raising the price on everything when people are having a hard enough time buying things already? I'm against that, and yes, I was against it when Bush did it too. I don't think sound economic policy is spend money when times are good, and spend more when times are bad. Every other business and household in America would go bankrupt if they acted like that.
Greatly expanding the ability to kill unborn babies. Yep, gotta be against that one too. I have a brother and a wife that would have been aborted if their moms had believed in it, based on their doctor's advice. Doctor told my mother-in-law that my wife was going to be Down Syndrome and should be aborted. My brother was born with a very rare disease, but defied all the odds and lived to be 28, when the longest anyone else had ever lived with it was 8. So yeah, I'm not a big fan of abortion.
Announcing the closing of Gitmo, but having no idea what we are going to do with the people there? Yeah, that's kind of putting the cart before the horse, so I'm gonna have to go against him on that one too.
Now I could go on and on about all th things BHO promised various groups on the campaign trail that scare me half to death, but I think I've proved my point and I don't want to take up too much space on the blog.
You see, Daniel, I just don't understand how we can go from it being our patriotic duty to question our president (a la Hillary to GW), to it being patriotic to whole heartedly accept the president's policy even if it goes against my beliefs and value system when it is a Democrat. I really wish all politicians could get the free pass that so many of the Democrats do, or be held to the fire the same way the Republicans are. Do I really need to compare how the media is treating BHO's Treasury Secretary for not paying his taxes to how they treated Sarah Palin for spending money on clothing that would be donated to charity after it was used? Or how they hounded "Joe the Plumber" who only owned I think a fourth of what BHO's guy owes?
Okay, I'm done with political speak for a while. I've vented my spleen and that should hold me for a couple of weeks.
Well, looks like this is the Tim vs. Daniel spot.....with a dash of Rush being thrown in.
It's too bad that people can't put aside the wanting to win for their own opinions and just put in some good wishes for our country and hope that things will get better with different leadership even if it disagrees with their opinions or not the person they wish were President.
This election was a victory for so many good things for our country...it was so nice to see over a million people smiling, for example and having a sense of pride in our country. What a contrast from the past 8 years.
Tim, You totally ignored Terry George's comment and I for one would like to see it answered.... with a YES and as for the blog golf game, hopefully more will show for golf than did for lunch :( But you all should do it, sounds like it could be a great time!
I braved the frozen tundra yesterday and shot a 41 on 9 holes. Next time I head that way I'll let you all know and we'll get together.
Tim, authority figures should always be questioned and you know I'm pro life though I find it hard that many Republicans don't support taxes for programs like welfare and then expect single mothers struggling to make it to have their kids. Seems pretty hypocritical. It's saying you better have this kid, but I"m not going to help you. It's based on a religious point but I don't think Jesus would want us to force mothers to have kids and then not help them financially as well as spiritually.
As for Gitmo, Gizmo or whatever, it's a sign to the rest of the world that we're not a nation that condones torture. Other countries will likely help us keep those prisoners that wouldn't have before because of the move.
Daniel, putt putt scores don't count toward your handicap...lol.
I think Tim would be an excellent dodgeball player,he sure is adept at dodging my comment!
I appreciate the sentiment, Terry, I just don't know what to tell ya except that I am considering it. I have a whole lot more on my plate now than I did six years ago when I ran before. I was a college student, with a full time job, both of which I could pretty much set my own schedule. That's not the case anymore. Now I'm a pastor, a dad, and a teacher (with a little bit of sportscaster thrown in), and I really don't want to do any of these half way.
I have spoken to my wife, my church, and a few trusted friends, but I honestly have no peace about which way to go right now. I will let everyone know if I am going to run, but until I make the decision, this is all I'll say.
Fair enough Tim,give me a call,I'll buy ya lunch.
Well, Tim and those who hate, I just wanted to post on here that I hope and pray that President Obama is a successful leader. He has my prayers and support.
