The Christmas Holiday is drawing near. What are some of the fun things you and your family do during this holiday season, share a family tradition or great places to visit to view holiday lights, parades, etc.

Our church visited Beech Bend for their Holiday Lights this past weekend. The park was also open with several of the rides operating in the dark which was a thrill. The park had several small campfires going for warming. A small ice skating rink was also there. Everyone had a great time!

One of the most fun things to do around here....is going to Opryland Hotel to stroll around the hotel during Christmas to see the lights -- we usually do that every Christmas season.

I moved from San Diego and there is quite a bit of difference between there and here. I met another couple about six months ago who also moved from Southern CA.

Don we moved here from The Central Valley. 100 miles east of San Francisco and 100 miles south of Sacramento. Our winters consisted of (some) rain and a whole lot of Zero Visibility Fog. We very rarely had freezing temps and never any snow. We had Ice sometimes and it was a bummer because it was foggy also. The cold here is different it is crisper...

I am interested where the couple from California moved from. Since this will be their first winter they should enjoy it compared to most of California in the winter.

We normally do letters from Santa for the youngest of our Grand kids, they really enjoy getting those letters for the 12 days of christmas, and has really helped keep them in tow as the excitement grows and christmas day gets near. BUT... they more than make up for it when christmas day is done!! I'm hoping we get some snow this year right before christmas and it stays for a few days, would be pretty!!

Well this is our first year here. We have no family here so I would bet our new tradition will involve long distant phones calls to California. My wife of 39yrs and our daughter will spend the day watching football and waiting for the Turkey.
