Thanks, Jessica, for collecting all these items for your friend from Macon County. You might also tell him to look at www.lafayettetn.com. We're updating that web site every few hours. There are some good resources in Lafayette where his family can pick up things they will need.

A man from my husband's work lost his home in the tornados, he lived in Macon County. He has a wife and a 2 year old son and we are gathering items to provide them with a helping hand as they start trying to rebuild their lives. Women's clothes large, size 6 shoes, Men's clothes size large, and 2T boy clothing..Also any toddler toys would be appreciated..also any dishes, glasses,or houseware items that you think would come in handy. We are hoping to get these items to the family on Monday, so if you are able to donate anything,it would be very helpful to have it dropped off this weekend! Thank you all so much! I know so many of you have big hearts for others! Contact me for any questions and for the drop off site :)

Is there any Organization, Group or City sponsored activity currently being done in the PORTLAND area for Tornado relief for our neighbors in Eastern Sumner and Macon County? I haven’t seen or heard of any other than taking goods to Gallatin individually. Neighboring communities should be working together to help these folks out, it could have been us, and could happen here! If there are relief efforts in Portland, please post.

Here are some churches that could use help supplying food and water to the victims and the volunteers.

Cragfont Baptist Church on Hwy 25 is also feeding people, handing out
food, water, has a place for them to stay and take showers.
Cornerstone and many others are involved in helping Cragfont to supply
the food and services to these victims. All the State Troopers, EMS,
workers are being fed there and taking care of business.

I received this email from a friend that is a member of Cornerstone Church.

I didn't know anyone personally who had any trouble from the storms. Coming down 109 this morning before I got to the bypass I seen a lot of trees tore down and some buildings that were hit. We all need to pray for these families. And to be very thankful for the people that survived.
