New Portland "Radio Blog"
I just wanted to let everyone know about the newest project I have undertaken for the radio station here in Portland. Lee, the manager of the station, wanted more local broadcasting and has asked me to host a political talkshow. It began this week, and we are talking about many of the topics you discuss here on this blog. So I wanted to invite everyone to tune in tp 1270AM on weekdays from 4-6PM and express your opinions. I have envisioned this to be a type of "radio blog" to give people a chance to express their opinions and get discussions started regarding major issues. Hope to talk to you soon.

I want to wish Tim all the luck in the world with his new Talk Show. It sounds like a wonderful vehicle to get the issues out in the open and give people a chance to state their views and discuss those views in an intelligent manner. I'm sure Tim will steer guests away from all the name-calling and bickering that has become a part of the blog.

Please don't mistake my distain for your attempt to shove your religious rhetoric down all of our throats....for support for a new venture being undertaken by an individual.
Trust me I am not angered or defensive at all!
Bye the way, having been in the media for nearly 20 years myself....I believe the newspapers and radio offer free advertising for the type of religious events you were trying to promote.
I don't believe Tim is advertising the radio station, he is simply let us all know that we can now be Heard...Out Loud...on the radio on a show that he is hosting. That is all.
Perhaps the problem here is that you are worried the the word on your behavior on this blog will become more well known via the radio show. This is what I believe is the actual issue here...not whether or not your able to post ads for religious events on this blog.
Perhaps you have reason to worry. Perhaps your pouting is appropriate.

I was merely applauding your change of heart.
You had previously stated your displeasure with advertising on this blog. And I am sure you meant across the board and not just religious.
Like I said, glad to see you have had a change of heart.

This is not advertising....If you think it is advertising why not discuss that with your counterpart.

Tim,
I will make it a point to listen. I spent nearly 20 years in the radio business, and I am excited for you on your new venture. Hopefully all opinions will be excepted and heard. Good and bad. Sometimes when it comes to politics the trueth can hurt, and some city officials on this blog have found out.
