Christmas Spending?

Is it just me or does anyone else think this year is costing us more money than the last couple of years? I don't know what it is....maybe just me. A rank at that!

Are you spending more or less than last year in general for Christmas?

hey tim coker you still havent answered my question.what about the employees of the city.do you as a councilman care about us making a descent living.instead of giving it all to the people at city hall.why dont you try and help the employees.you and all the rest of the coucil members. i am sure all of you have got what you want.why not help the employees that are struggling to make a living.what happened to one of the men in the water dept.about getting the job in the gas dept.after being there 5 years and this man that got the job has been there about 3 years is total disrimination.this man that got the job has a first cousin on the coucil.thats why he got the job and the other man didnt.to me we have the worst people there is running this town.they only care about themselves.nobodyelse.when they get all of these discrimination law suits against them maybe they will pay attention tothe employees.who ever reads this the citizens of portland.if only new what some of these people at city hall make.you would not beleive it.

We cut back a lot this year. My family decided to do more for the kids and drew names among the adults. I think I ended up spending a little more on my kids though, because with their age comes higher priced wish lists.

Prices for goods and services reflect higher costs, due in some part to gas/transportation costs.

The purchasing power of the dollar is also lower now than in most previous years. The dollar fell significantly in recent months and is a sort of freefall on the world market.

So, yes, you would be experiencing what you are saying.
