Nashville to debut this weekend

This weekend a new country music band will make its first public performance at a benefit this weekend for 2006 Middle Tennessee Strawberry Queen Ashley Dobbs who is battling leukemia. The band was the concept of Portland native Ronnie McDowell and its membership consists of McDowell's son Ronnie Dean McDowell Jr. and his two cousins, Jody McDowell and David Ward. The three cousins are joined by Chance James of Portland and Ryan Foster of Hendersonville. The band has already recorded an album and is waiting from a response from a Nashville record company which is currently considering signing the band. Below is a video of a practice session in Portland the night before their performance in the Gallatin benefit.

Nashville, visit me in Calhoun so that I can critique your music. You can put on a performance at my house. I have met Ronnie Dean and Jody and I would like to meet the rest of the band.

I heard the band at the benefit & I think they are GREAT ! I hope I get to see them perform again.

This band has a lot of great talent & I hope to see them go far. Jody has been playing locally for years & I would love to see him go more global with his unique talents. ALso, Ronnie Dean has been performing since youth & he brings a lot of talent that would compliment any band. I don't know the other members but I have heard this band is put together well to compliment each other!!

Good Luck to a Portland Band & I for one hope they make it to the TOP!!!!
