Bright Lights
Bright Lights @ the end of Hwy 52W & Hwy 109 -- Has anyone been at this intersection at night?
You can barely see when driving! Are there any regulations on the brightness or angle of this type of lighting?

you need not worry about the lights anymore, now that the collins construction co. has already made their millions there. they could care less if the lights point to uranus.

The lights on the conner of 52 & 31W are now pointed down facing the ground (Thankfully).
Due to stealing of contruction stuff they had the lights pointed up.
Also, I like the new street lights on the other side of 52 (across from the the lights pointed up) I think it would be nice to have the lights all the way from I-65 to the High School.
who would pay for the lights??? We, the taxpayers would. Thanks for reading my blog.

Thanks Kevin Tabb -- I hope the shields work.
I was driving by there at night & they are angled at a bad angle for drivers. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks Mr. Tabb for all of us who have to pass that way! It will be nice to be blinded at the 4 way stop.

Thank you to everyone who let us know that there was a problem. Our Codes Administrtor/Building Inspector, Mr. Tabb was able to visit the site last night and determine there was a significant problem. Mr. Tabb has informed the contractor to place deflector sheilds on the lights so that there is no interferance with the traffic. The problem should be corrected by the end of the week. Mr. Tabb should be commended for his prompt attention to this situation.
If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to contact me or Mr. Tabb at Portland City Hall.

I agree those lights are too bright. I hope something can be done about them. It is almost a distraction.

I live a few miles from this location... the lights really don't bother me. I was told there was a issue with theft of construction equipment, so Im sure that is why it's lit like it is.

I got off I-65 coming south from Franklin, Kentucky. I turned on Highway 52 going towards Portland. I too was nearly blinded by the lights at the southeast corner of U.S. 31-W and TN 52. The lights belong to the new convenience store that's being built. This looks like an issue TDOT should address.
