New to Blog
Hello everyone....I am new to the world of "blog" (as well as relatively new to Portland) and hope to meet lots of "bloggers" from here, there and everywhere. I think this will be a great opportunity for the community to voice it's opinions, share information, and generally just get to know what Portland is about. I do know that Fall Soccer begins soon, as I have two grandsons who will be playing and I'm pretty excited about it. I found out today that the season actually begins on Sep 12 (Jamboree Sep 10, pics, etc.) and ends on October 29th. Practices should begin sometime this week or weekend.
If anyone has more info to share, please do so..til next time,bye gw

I have read some of the things posted about the coaching of the high school football team. I am wondering why there is so many kids leaving the team last year as well as this year. Maybe some one (the parent of one of these kids) may be able to shed some light on what is happening to make these kids stop playing a sport they enjoy.

In reference to the Arby's question, I haven't heard anything, but hope it is true...I really like Arby's and would also like to see more resturants come into Portland...we need a good ole KFC, Arby's, Wendy's, and an O'Charley's would be awesome....maybe in time...til then, I guess what we have will just have to do...

For those of us who aren't familiar with this kind of thing, "what is Rocky Top Brigade and Volunteer Tailgate Parties" all about...sounds like fun and a good way to get the word out about the Portland Blog....but I have no idea what it is!

Thanks for the soccer, They use to have it on Sunday afternoon, now I see they change it to Saturday, also has anyone heard that Arby's is moving to were the old burger king was?
I was told they lock a deal down this week.

Welcome to the Blogosphere. One of these days once we have developed this blog a little more I'll contact the guys in the Rocky Top Brigade and maybe they will invite us to one of their Volunteer Tailgate Parties and build up the hits to this site.
