Check out the Rocky Toppers

For those of you new to blogging, you ought to go check out the Rocky Top Brigade website, rtblogo.jpga group of Tennessee bloggers with an aggragator on their home page. The RTB was started by a liberal Knoxville blogger named South Knox Bubba who had the group's home page on his site. Just recently he shut down for good and other bloggers took up where Bubba left off. In this group there are conservatives, liberals, moms, sports fans and many many others. I used to have a blog on their list but I stopped posting last October and dropped off their list.
One of the traditions of the Brigade is to hold occasional Volunteer Tailgate Parties where the bloggers send one member their best posts of the last week or two to be listed on that person's site. This is a way to generate traffic for one member and an easy way to check out what everybody else has been writing about. The most recent Volunteer Tailgate Party was at Big Orange Michael.

FYI: When shopping at the new furniture store in Portland please be aware of their policy of no refunds. Even if the furniture they deliver is damaged. I could say a WHOLE lot more!! But will leave it at that. And maybe one more thing customer service doesn't exist!

We miss you Dan.

I would like to see some resturants come to Portland also--I am so tired of greasy deep fried everything....There is no where good to eat in Portland unless you want to clog your arterys--and I love the El Azteca Mexican resturant--and the Hg Hills Deli--but that gets old after a few times-- We need somthing that serves fresh sandwhichs--and meat and threes--Like a cafe--but needs good managment and good ingredients with a good price--Also--there is no where to get good deserts in Portland--somtimes I am just craving a good Hot fudge Brownie or some cheesecake--and there is no where to get any!! Occassions has a decent menu and a beautiful resturant- but a sandwhich and chips with a drink will cost you nearly $10--plus a tip--and forget a $4 slice of cake!! Thats not reasonable, nor affordable!! Portland in all honesty is not a healthy place to live-- and there really is not that much of a choice in anything-- people keep opening stupid bussiness that common sense would tell you they wont last--I mean come on!! I did not grow up in Portland--and honestly dont like it here--But cant afford to move yet--so am stuck a lil while longer--but am hoping somday soon--Portland will get there priorities lined up and make it a decent place to live-- How much longer do we have to recive notices a year later only to find out we were drinking bad water?? Resturants should be a concern also-- Dont bother opening a place if you are not going to maintain it--and hire decent help--and Ponda"Grossa!!" Please--I have had Microwave meals that were better!! I was so dissapointed after paying nearly $30 plus a tip for a meal for two-- only to get somthing they called steak-- and a bar full of instant mixed cheap crap--I would be ashamed to call myself a resturant--Yet it is a pretty resturant inside--its a shame there food has to be so nasty and undesireable!! Well thats my honest opion--might as well speak up--someone needs too!!!
